The story of the Brătescu Mansion is about authenticity, history and the desire to offer guests an unforgettable experience in the heart of Transylvania.
There are many stories about Bran, many of which are true and many of which are stories, just like the legend of Dracula. Among the true and authentic ones is the story of the Brătescu Manor, a fairytale place in Bran.
One of our guests associated the manor with an idea of Master Constantin Brâncuși: “Seeing it from afar is one thing, going there is something else entirely.” expressing the emotion and joy of having lived for a few days in a manor atmosphere.
Our story began with the desire to build something different. Something authentic in the spirit of the place, something that would speak of the Bran area, something capable of inspiring and making our guest come back. Every corner of the Brătescu Manor is a tribute to Romanian tradition and local craftsmanship. In its construction we used exclusively natural materials — river stone brought from the Bucegi Mountains and solid wood processed by local artisans. The architecture combines the elegance specific to interwar boyar residences with the rustic charm of houses in Transylvanian villages, offering a warm and welcoming ambiance. It is not just a guesthouse, but an authentic Romanian manor dedicated to preserving good taste and the tradition of hospitality.
We are also located in an area that abounds in history and attractions. Although we don’t have a direct view from the mansion, we are close to major landmarks, including the famous Bran Castle, a world-renowned tourist attraction.
The name is not accidental. Long ago, Mr. Emil Brătescu, a professor of Romanian language and literature, used to receive his friends, writers and poets of the time, to dance (including Ioan Groșan, Ioan Buduca, Radu Țeposu, Cornel Nistorescu, Otilia Țeposu, etc.). Here, discussions, criticisms and literary, social, political and cultural analyses were organized until after midnight, washed down with selected wines. Mr. Brătescu’s house became an eternal place, remaining in everyone’s mind “Brătescu’s Manor”. Today, the new construction continues the story, offering guests the opportunity to live special moments.
Brătescu Manor is an authentic Romanian manor, capable of offering the tourist arriving in Bran a rich, unique experience, an experience that will make him want to return.
The Brătescu Mansion is a place where you will experience the atmosphere of a mansion, you will be able to taste selected wines and home-cooked dishes, you will sleep in carefully finished and furnished rooms, authentic Romanian mansion rooms.
We believe in things made from the heart, those that have the power to change, or at least bring a glimmer of light. The Brătescu Mansion offers you a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, providing you with the setting and energy for a comfortable stay. You are welcome both for a single night, on a business trip, as well as for a weekend or a romantic stay.
For us, there is only one wish we have for every person who steps foot in our door: we want you to return to Conacul Brătescu. We believe that a comfortable room with an excellent breakfast, a friendly smile and the story of an authentic manor house are the keys to a perfect stay. In essence, the experience at Conacul Brătescu is the promise of an escape from everyday life, where history, comfort and hospitality meet.
